Sergio Sciancalepore began his infatuation with food when he was just a young boy.
He was influenced by his parents, Michael and Caroline, who had established two Italian specialty stores in Jersey City and Lyndhurst, NJ. As a youngster, he would spend many hours discovering his desire and passion for cooking. This is where he began to learn how to make fresh mozzarella, and all kinds of wonderful Italian delicacies. It would be clear to him later on in life, how he could develop his passion and knowledge of food by creating his own culinary path to success!
Alas, in 1999 Sergio & Company, Italian Specialties was established. Nestled in Denville, NJ, amongst the many shops and eateries, the store began to establish itself. Inside the small, intimate location is a reflection of Old World Italy, where customers identify with the aromas of their Grandma’s kitchen. The smell of homemade cooking at its best! Here you'll always find a line of customers who are waiting patiently for their turn to try the homemade food, breads, and cheeses that Sergio’s creates every day. Fresh mozzarella is Sergio’s Specialty, made all day to keep up with the demand! The staff takes pride in preparing family recipes from generations before. The cuisine is truly an authentic example of how good food can be prepared fresh, and enjoyed as it should be.
